Through our expansive showroom, BMW of Rochester Hills has been bringing luxury vehicles to the folks of Rochester Hills, Oakland Township, and Sterling Heights, MI, for years. However, did you know you can also bring your own vehicle to us?
That's correct! When it comes time to trade in your car, you can trust our team to provide excellent care, guidance, and attention to detail. Whether you're looking to upgrade your driving experience or are just ready to try something new, we'll help you put your current ride towards this new dream.
To discover the steps involved in the trade-in process, we've provided a handy guide below!
Step 1: Prepare Your Vehicle for Trade
Before bringing your vehicle into our dealership, it's important to make sure it's in a reasonable condition and ready for its potential new owners. This involves:
Giving it a good cleaning
They say, "Always leave things better than you found them" and we couldn't agree more-especially when it comes to your car. Before our dealership takes a look at your ride, be sure to give it a thorough cleaning. Wax and wash away exterior grime. Vacuum the interior carpets to remove any dirt or debris.
Clearing out all personal objects
While it may seem obvious to remove your metal water bottle sitting in the center console, other items can often go overlooked. Like, for example, your prescription sunglasses tucked away in their roof compartment or the coloring book your daughter stuffed in the back seat pocket.
Gathering pertinent documents
You'll be required to present your vehicle's documentation during the trade-in process, so make certain you've got it on hand. Consider bringing along any maintenance records too.
Step 2: Learn Your Vehicle's Estimated Value
Once your car is ready to be brought in, drive on over and pay us a visit. When you arrive, let one of our salespeople know that you're looking to trade in your vehicle. They'll take it from there, examining your vehicle for signs of wear or damage. They may also take your car for a test drive to test its performance abilities.
Once they are finished, they'll use these discoveries to provide an accurate offer for your car. After you look over that offer and are ready to accept it, you'll finalize the transaction by signing over your car's title.
It's that simple!
When a car is traded into a dealership, the value of said vehicle isn't put back into your pocket but rather put towards your new lease or purchase.
