While you've been merrily driving along the roads near Rochester Hills, Oakland Township, and Sterling Heights, MI, you're enjoying the ride in your leased BMW. About 90 days before your lease ends, though, you'll receive notice about the lease expiration date with instructions on BMW lease returns. What will you do?
Before you make a hasty decision, BMW of Rochester Hills suggests you give some thought to your next move. You're granted four ways to go, so read carefully and make your best decision.
Will You Lease Another BMW?
Once you've reached this critical juncture in your lease, you may be brimming over with excitement. Although you've enjoyed your time with this BMW, it's time to lease a newer one. It's incredibly exciting to know that one of the latest BMW vehicles will be yours in a few short weeks.
During this time-which spans from 90 to 120 days-make sure you schedule a complimentary inspection of your current leased vehicle at our dealership. Then, go shopping for your new car among our new BMW inventory. When your lease expires, you'll be able to drive off in a beautiful new car. Don't forget to bring your lease paperwork when you return your current lease.
Will You Purchase Your Leased BMW?
If you cannot imagine parting with your leased BMW, why not purchase it? After it undergoes the complimentary inspection, our financing professionals can work out the details. If the car is eligible for purchase through the BMW Certified Pre-Owned process, we're happy to handle the transaction. Any charges incurred while driving the lease will be added to the total.
How About Extending Your Lease?
In some cases, you may not be ready to leave the lease of your current BMW. If you're satisfied with your car and want to linger longer before shopping for a new one, we may be able to extend your lease. This can also apply if you've gone over the designated number of miles in your lease agreement.
Before this can happen, you'll want to talk to our Client Manager. Depending on the model, your options for an extension may differ, so it's best to discuss this ahead of time.

Is It Time to Return Your Lease?
Maybe you're ready to move on from your lease and shop for another car. Whatever the case, make sure that you return your keys, any vehicle accessories, and manuals that were stationed in the vehicle when you first received it.
If you brought the car in for repairs due to excessive wear-and-tear, bring receipts for any services you sought. Since you are returning the lease and ending the agreement, you are not required to set up a final inspection. The inspection will be administered upon return, and any charges will be given to you after this is complete.
Some lessees may prefer to end their lease before the time period is over. You will be obligated to pay a lease termination fee, and any remaining expected depreciation on the original lease terms. A Client Advisor can answer any questions you have regarding your specific lease terms.
