2022 BMW 8 Series Review

The 2022 8 Series comes equipped with a 3.0L BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder, 24-valve, 335-horsepower engine. It combines a twin-scroll turbocharger with variable valve control-Double VANOS and Valvetronic-and high-precision direct injection. It is paired with an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission with Sport and Manual shift modes, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and Launch Control.

Additional features in this category include Driving Dynamics Control with ECO PRO, COMFORT, and SPORT modes, Auto Start-Stop function, sport exhaust system, electronic throttle control, Brake Energy Regeneration, and electronically controlled engine cooling.

Looking at the performance, there are a lot of features worth mentioning. It starts with the Dynamic Stability Control, including Brake Fade Compensation, Start-off Assistant, Brake Drying, and Brake Stand-by features, with Dynamic Traction Control. Other features include 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes with anti-lock braking system, composite front rotors and Dynamic Brake Control, brake-pad wear indicators, and Cornering Brake Control.

The 2022 8 Series provides a massive amount of connective features, including first, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility. It continues with enhanced smartphone connectivity with additional microphone, USB ports, and the ability to have simultaneous device pairing. To finish this off is the BMW ConnectedDrive® Services and remote software upgrade capability.

Rounding out this section are the audio features, which include a Harman Kardon® Surround Sound Audio System, with a 464-watt amplifier and 16 speakers. Meeting at the crossroads of connectivity and audio features is SiriusXM® with 360L, plus a one-year platinum plan subscription.
