8 Series Power and Performance

The 8 Series starts with a 335-horsepower, 3.0-liter turbo-6 engine that has plenty of sportiness. If you want more power, you can opt for one of the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engines on the offer, which boast horsepower ranging from 523 to 617. With the range-topping engine and the optional Competition package, the 8 Series has an incredible run from 0 to 60 MPH in just three seconds.

Power isn't all the 8 Series has to offer, however. Both the 840i and M850i versions come with suspension tuning and available active steering that adjusts the rear wheels at low speeds, making the vehicle nimbler and more maneuverable. You can choose the track-ready M8 that includes a tight suspension and additional cooling features for more performance.

8 Series Comfort and Space

The 8 Series is available in coupe and convertible models, as well as a four-door Gran Coupe model. The most spacious of the pack, the Gran Coupe has a massive rear seat for adults to stretch out and relax. Both the coupe and convertible models have ample headroom and legroom in both the front and back.

Standard features include Vernasca leather upholstery, heated front seats, power-soft closing doors, ambient interior lighting, and a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel. Optional features include Merino leather upholstery, power-adjustable and ventilated front seats, an M Sport steering wheel, and an Alcantara headliner.

8 Series Technology Features

The 8 Series arrives with the iDrive infotainment system, an easy-to-use system that offers a variety of app connectivity for entertainment and information on the go. A Harman Kardon^® sound system, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone integration, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen are also included. You'll have additional entertainment options with the standard HD Radio™ and satellite radio. A 12- or 16-speaker Bowers & Wilkins^® premium sound system is available.

Several safety features are included for the 8 Series, such as rain-sensing wiper blades, automatic high-beam headlights, and a head-up display. Lane-departure warning, a feature that warns you if you wander out of your lane, is also standard. Optional features include park assist, parking sensors, a surround-view parking camera system, and adaptive cruise control, a feature that adjusts your speed on the highway to remain with the stream of traffic. Blind-spot monitoring is also available, which warns you if there's a vehicle in your path while changing lanes.
